ten feet from a wild coastal amazing
there’s just enough light in the sky to
get round this corner in the boat and
get to the beach where yesterday I found
a dead seal I’ve got to get into
position as quickly and as quietly as
possible
so the small chance of wolf does come by
to check it out I’ll be set up and
hidden when it gets here now it’s just a
waiting game and hopefully I get lucky
because we do need a bit of luck
out there is the kill yesterday I set up
a remote camera right by the carcass if
a wolf happens to jack it out
I should get some intimate close-up
shots
but now that I’m in the hide it’s just a
waiting game
a tedious tedious waiting game
there is not a lot going on
first bit of animal action not the off
kind or the bird kind they are just
stunning the kind of size for robbing
and they’ve just got this bright orange
and black stripy toleration per head
steady to watch a good way to pass the
time
company business happening
you know when you come up with an idea
like this you say I want to film coastal
rules for National Geographic and you
pitch it to them and then they say yeah
okay that’s when you go hmm Ivana Way
says with mass Geographic you’re only as
good as your last story and this is my
first story so if you up your first
story then it’s just aa game over
oh she’s going straight up to the kill
hopefully the remote cameras getting
some footage too
she is just a classic coastal wolf long
skinny legs that kind of gray color but
a suggestion of
doesn’t look like she’s getting much me
off that Gargas may have just been too
big Tovar
there she goes back down the beach
these wolves live off the ocean so low
tide they’ll scour the ghosts looking
the mussels fish barnacles or anything
dead that might have washed up in the
sir
she’s going too far left idle oi
I’ve got a switch handles

that know I’m here I didn’t want to
spook here when it was really close but
this is the single most incredible
wildlife count I’ve ever had
oh she’s heading back down the beach
Wolfe’s just gone up into the forest and
it’s bit of an emotional overload
it might have been brief but after three
months I found my coastal wolf
